The dazzling new musical GHOST The Musical, based on the phenomenal Oscar winning Paramount Pictures film, opens at the Piccadilly Theatre in June 2011 and public booking opens from today.

A timeless fantasy about the power of love in which Sam is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next trying to communicate with girlfriend Molly through a phoney psychic, in the hope of saving her from his murderer. Ghost features stunning new music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winning legends Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard (writer of Michael Jackson’s Man In The Mirror), and also includes the unforgettable ‘Unchained Melody’.

A murder mystery so wickedly good, it’s to die for!

Ingeniously clever and hilariously twisted, Deathtrap is the most celebrated thriller by Ira Levin, author of The Stepford Wives, Rosemary’s Baby, The Boys from Brazil and A Kiss Before Dying.

Matthew Warchus directs a unique cast which includes Simon Russell Beale (lead in the sell-out National Theatre production of London Assurance) and Jonathan Groff (star of the hit US TV series Glee and lead in the Tony Award winning Broadway production of Spring Awakening). Time Out Best Actress Award-winner Claire Skinner will also star alongside celebrated New York stage actor Terry Beaver and Academy Award-winning actress Estelle Parsons.

GHOST the Musical – Where will GHOST Premiere?

It has been recently rumoured that Ghost, the musical adaptation of the 1990 film, will premiere at the Palace Theatre in Manchester and not London’s West End as originally thought.  It is scheduled to open in 2010 although no details have been confirmed.

Everyone remembers the Academy Award-winning film, Ghost, which starred Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.  The film has all of the makings of a true love story… filled with love, passion determination, tragedy, and more.  Sam (Patrick Swayze) and Molly (Demi Moore) are mugged walking home one evening when Sam is murdered during the attack.  Sam’s ghost helps Molly overcome the dangers she faces with the help of ‘Medium’ Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldberg).

Matthew Warchus will direct the musical version of Ghost.  Music and lyrics are to be written by Grammy Award winners Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard.  Oscar winner Bruce Joel Rubin will adapt the original screenplay for the stage and will also write lyrics.  The cast which has not been confirmed is rumoured to include Laura Michelle Kelly to play the role of Molly.
