Musical Football Fable Kicks Off for World Cup Season: Who Ate All the Pies?

Ladidagroup will present Who Ate All the Pies?, a modern musical football fable, at Tristan Batest Theatre in London from 9 – 26 June 2010.

Punter likes football, Punter likes Pies, on the last game of the season, Punter dies…

As the World Cup in South Africa kicks off in June, Who Ate All the Pies? a modern musical football fable, takes to the field at the Tristan Bates Theatre in central London for a strictly limited fixture from 9 to 26 June, playing a variety of performance times throughout the World Cup season, allowing WAGS everywhere to tear their football mad males away from the TV.

Dive into the beleaguered world of City FC as Punter’s daughter Sharon honours her father’s dying wish to take his season ticket. Meet the Northern football manager, the saucy WAG, the sly agent, the new millionaire owner, the ill-informed pundits, the mouthy yobs, the posh bloke from the corporate box, and of course the £18 milllion footballer!

Who Ate All the Pies? follows City’s desperate attempt to make it through the season without being relegated again. Will Sharon ever understand the passion, the tears, the laughter and the love that binds together the fans on the terrace? Will she ever forgive her father for all those missed Saturday afternoons? Will City FC return to glory before the final whistle?

Who Ate All the Pies? is written by Jimmy Jewell & Nick Stimson, the team behind the hugely celebrated NHS The Musical at the Theatre Royal Plymouth and The Venue Leicester Square, which was hailed ‘A pesky, perky, word-of-mouth hit!’ by Lyn Gardner in The Guardian. A similarly comedic romp is guaranteed for football lovers and loathers alike.

Produced by Ladidagroup, Who Ate All the Pies? is directed by Johnny Brant, with musical supervision by Tom Kelly, musical direction by Mark Dickman, and lighting design by Paul Green. Who Ate All the Pies? was originally commissioned by the Drum Theatre, Theatre Royal Plymouth, and was developed in association with Perfect Pitch.
