Sharon Gless: A Round Heeled Woman at Aldwych Theatre

Take a feisty, funny unforgettable journey of love, sex, heartache and laughter with multi-award-winning actress Sharon Gless (Cagney & Lacey, Queer as Folk, Burn Notice) in A ROUND HEELED WOMAN, the sparkling adaptation of Jane Juska’s best-selling novel chronicling the real-life adventures she experienced after placing a rather unusual ad in the New York Review of Books:

“Before I turn 67 – next March – I would like to have a lot of sex with a man I like. If you want to talk first, Trollope works for me.”

A sassy, poignant and hilarious account of Jane’s remarkable encounters with men between the ages of 32 and 84 – including her first orgasm with a man in 30 years! – this critically acclaimed production transfers to the West End’s Aldwych Theatre for 8 weeks only between 24th November to 14th January 2012.

Sharon Gless is an American character actress of stage, film and television, who is best known for her roles as Maggie Philbin on Switch (1975–1978), as Sgt. Christine Cagney in the police procedural drama series Cagney & Lacey (1982–1988) and as Debbie Novotny in the Showtime cable television series Queer as Folk (2000–2005). She is an Emmy Award winner currently playing Madeline Westen on Burn Notice.

TOP HAT West End Transfer to the Aldwych Theatre with Tom Chambers & Summer Strallen

Top Hat at the Aldwych Theatre from 19 April 2012, music & Lyrics by Irving Berlin and based on RKO’s Motion Picture adapted for the stage by Matthew White & Howard Jacques.

It’s time to ‘put on your top hat and brush off your tails’

Seventy-seven years after Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers lit up Hollywood’s silver screen with one of the greatest dance musicals of all time, RKO Pictures’ TOP HAT is coming to the West End’s Aldwych Theatre. Judging by the sensational reviews, standing ovations and sold out theatres around the country on its pre-London tour, it has been well worth the wait.

Tom Chambers (Holby City heartthrob and Strictly Come Dancing winner) plays the irrepressible Broadway sensation Jerry Travers who dances his way across Europe to win the heart of society model Dale Tremont, played by triple Olivier Award nominee Summer Strallen (Love Never Dies, The Sound of Music, The Drowsy Chaperone). Packed full of Irving Berlin’s greatest hits, such as Let’s Face the Music and Dance, Cheek to Cheek and Top Hat, White Tie and Tails, stunning tap, romantic ballroom and a little bit of Busby Berkeley thrown in for good measure, TOP HAT is a giddy, glorious celebration of 1930s song and dance, featuring magnificent sets, over 200 costumes and a love story that will set the pulses racing!
