Mamma Mia! moves to the Novello Theatre in September 2012

The smash hit musical Mamma Mia! will transfer from Prince of Wales Theatre to the Novello Theatre in September 2012.

Judy Craymer producer of this show said: “I am delighted that the original production of Mamma Mia! will move to the stage of the beautiful Novello Theatre. It is a perfect space for the musical. The Novello is a gem of a theatre that perfectly suits the creative needs of Mamma Mia!, and provides a comfortable and friendly experience for audiences in the heart of Theatreland.”

Night after night, audiences are having the time of their lives at MAMMA MIA!. Catherine Johnson’s sunny, funny story of love, laughter and friendship has been thrilling London audiences for over 10 years. More recently it became the biggest British hit movie of all time when the three women who created the worldwide stage smash hit adapted it for the silver screen.

Inspired by the storytelling magic of ABBA’s songs, from ‘Dancing Queen’ and ‘Take A Chance On Me’ to ‘Super Trouper’ and ‘Thank You For The Music’, MAMMA MIA!’s enchanting tale of family and friendship unfolds on a Greek Island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past to the island they last visited 20 years ago…

Over 40 million people worldwide have been dancing in the aisles to this sensational musical, and London is where it all began back in 1999. So who will you bring to experience the joy and exhilaration of MAMMA MIA! with you?

Cool Hand Luke to close early at Aldwych Theatre

Cool Hand Luke posts early closing notices for 19th of Nov 2011 at the Aldwych Theatre London, the play was originally taking bookings until 7th Jan 2012.

Beneath a scorching Florida sun, Boss Godfrey watches the chain gang. Keeps his eye on Cool Hand Luke. War hero, trouble-maker, inspiration to his fellow inmates. And just the man Boss wants to crush…

Starring Marc Warren (Hustle, Mad Dogs) as the charismatic rebel, Cool Hand Luke is the hard-hitting story of a true original. He’ll play it real cool in the face of brutality. He’ll always get back up after a beating. He’ll eat fifty eggs in an hour, to win a bet. A man who won’t conform no matter what it costs.

In a powerful new adaptation for the stage by Emma Reeves, based on Donn Pearce’s acclaimed novel, and directed by Andrew Loudon Cool Hand Luke is the raw, uncompromising tale of sticking it to ‘The Man’.

Robert Lindsey and Joanna Lumley starring in The Lion in Winter at Theatre Royal Haymarket from 05-Nov-2011 until 28-Jan-2012.

A family Christmas becomes a family at war. Henry II, not so young as he was, invites his estranged wife Eleanor of Aquitane, and his three sons, Richard, Geoffrey and John, to spend the festive season with him, his mistress Princess Alais, and her brother, the young King Philip of France. Will Henry name who is to be his successor as King of England? Their yuletide celebration turns into a combat zone of deceit, betrayal, bitter power games and scabrous wit.

“I am excited to be directing the London premiere of a famous play about a power struggle full of sexual politics and political sex, with two such brilliant actors as Robert Lindsay and Joanna Lumley.” – Trevor Nunn

The Pajama Men Hit The West End

David Johnson and John Mackay in association with Soho Theatre present The Pajama Men: In the Middle of No One at Charing Cross Theatre from January 9 2012 to March 3 2012.

Following the side-splitting debut of their brand new show In The Middle Of No One at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival earlier this year and hot on the heels of sell out runs at Soho Theatre and The Edinburgh Festival and a UK tour, The Pajama Men make their West End debut this Winter.

Their unique brand of comedy which requires no more than their pajamas and an endless assembly of voices has consistently wowed audiences and critics wherever The Pajama Men have played over the past few years and has built up an ever growing army of enthusiastic fans.

In The Middle of No One sees a lone explorer leave his wife and child behind in search of things most people have never seen, let alone know about.
Meanwhile a dimwitted and affable, genius space-man (who discovered time-travel in a morally confusing way) struggles to make the right decision by doing exactly the wrong thing. You’ll also meet; some vicious housewives, a gigantic sea monster known only as the Ice Beast, an unhelpful robot, a very rare bird and more, as the Pajama Men jump from character to character in the blink of an eye.
Over the past seven years the PJs have won numerous comedy awards, critical acclaim and cult-like following across the US, UK and Australia. They’ve amused audiences as well as themselves with runs at The St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn, and a sold out season at the Sydney Opera House. In 2010 they broke all previous box office records at London’s Soho Theatre.

“Simply one of the most innovative, original and hilarious comedy acts around.” SARAH CROMPTON – THE DAILY TELEGRAPH
“Forget time travel: surely past and future can’t be any funnier than this.” BRIAN LOGAN – THE GUARDIAN
“Moment after moment of jaw-dropping comic wonder.” DOMINIC MAXWELL – THE TIMES
